My personal idea for a movie would be Celestia being stolen away by some creature in the middle of the day, stranding the sun in the sky. Without her to tell it to set Ponyville enters an eternal day, ponies and sleep, and it's getting hotter and hotter. Luna begins to grow weak from the lack of moonlight, and in order to save her and the rest of ponyville, the mane six have to go out beyond the Everfree Forest to find the princess and bring back the Night before it's too late.

Here's a question for you /co/, how old do you think the main cast is? It's clear from the premises of the show that they're not fully mature. Yet the main cast pretty much run the show. Rainbow Dash runs the pegasus group in Ponyville, I forget which but either AJ is a major food provider for the town and seems to run the farm, and Rarity does the wardrobe for most of the events in and around the town. And it looks like most of the ponies in ponyville are about the same age, with only Grannysmith, the mayor, and couple who run the bakery of an older age.

Also it's clear they're not full grown, since Dash and Rarity competed in the "Best Young Fliers" competition. So the fuck is up with ponyville? Do the ponies go to work at a young age, or do you suppose that ponyville is some kind of starter town, where younger ponies are sent away from the more productive society to learn via trail and error before integrating into mature society?

Theory: Twilight Sparkle drove Pinkie Pie out of her home and job at the library.
