Working up a good romance takes time. Most fic writers either don't have the skill to pull off the needed character development, so they just ump right to the sex part and either say that all the romance happened in the past or just throw up their hands and go with 'and then they fucked'.

You say before you down another shot and smile at Val. Before the three can say another word you slam the shot glass down onto the middle one's head, causing him to fall to the ground. In a flash Val is upon the right one, knocking him senseless. The final pony is momentarily stunned by the events, before attempting to tackle you. Even as drunk as you are he is no match. You effortlessly grab him and toss him over the table, causing the Unicorn to duck under the body.

The music suddenly stops and everyone turns to stare at the Gryphon and Pony who seemed to be ruining the bar.

"It's about time you stood up for yourself, ya wuss."

You start trying to walk toward the door, stumbling as you go.

"Shut up Val." You say before falling over one of the ponies. You lie there on the ground, waiting for the room to stabilize when you see the Unicorn.

"You both seem perfect for the job, we'll meet again tomorrow." The last thing you hear is Val laughing before you slip into a drunken slumber.
