Lessons Learned: Humility, Teamwork and not judging a book by it's cover.

I was working on farm last year (it's more of a rural zoo/park rather than a complete farm, but farm nonetheless) and got to work with three horses. One retired thoroughbred racehorse (he's in his 30's but still spry), one mini horse (female) and a pony (also female).
Gonna say, the mini and the pony were bitches. Pony tried to kick me, like she'd done with my coworkers ( came within inches of the foreman's face) and the mini wouldn't listen half the time. Earlier in the episode, Pinkie's "Oh no, we can't prank Fluttershy! She's way too sensitive!" is meant to show that Pinkie has limits -- she only pranks the people she knows can take it, and doesn't go too far.

Gilda doesn't have those limits -- she pranks old ladies and yells at Fluttershy even as the little pony is clearly trying to apologize. Also she stole an apple (HOW HEINOUS). So, she's clearly painted as the bad guy.

At least as bad as characters in FiM ever get. Villains in the series so far all seem to have developed their own "They're just misunderstood!" fandoms. It's kindof neat, really.

Okay, you make a point about how annoying Pinkie was. But I believe Gilda's motivation for getting rid of Pinkie wasn't the interruptions, it was that she looked down on Pinkie as "lame-o". And let's not forget that Gilda also stole, and went off on Fluttershy for no reason. Gilda established a track record of being a dyke in the worst sense of the word. I don't see why this is incentive to hate her character though. Firstly, just enjoy a character even if you don't agree with their morality or actions. If the character hurts you favorite, big deal. There are plenty of villains and 'bad guys' I like that torment my favorite characters. Who gives a fuck?

Also, everyone does something mean spirited at one point or another. Everyone. It wasn't like Gilda murdered anyone or physically harmed anyone. She was just a bitch. An awesome bitch. Who was fun to watch.
