YOU WILL NEVER be a loyal guard stallion, patrolling the night time corridors of Canterlot palace, your armour glinting proudly in the soft light of a full moon. As you go about your last rounds, you'd hear soft sobs coming from the throne room, and as you go to investigate you behold the sight of Princess Luna, curled up on the throne in grief. Approaching her timidly, unsure about this new ruler who had only recently appeared, you'd ask her what was the matter, whereupon she'd cry out and throw her hoofs around yours, hiding her head under your wing as she regales you with the depths of her sorrow and loneliness. As your heart goes tender at the sight of this broken hearted goddess, and you gently take her face in your hoofs, staring deeply into her watery eyes as you whisper, "Never again, my dear Princess," before you place your lips against hers, the night suddenly lighting up as the stars shine with renewed splendour at the energy of your loving embrace
instead you’re actually peacefully sleeping in your barracks, as you don’t have a night shift at all. Luna spends every waking night horribly alone, the impact of her tears on the palace floor the only sound that stirs in the empty halls as anguish and bitterness rise up in her heart and begin to reclaim it |
