Actually, in the Trixie episode, it's said that the unicorn ponies each have a special talent that their magic focuses on. Like Rarity's is basically fashion, so you don't see her do much else except generic levitating things, and she mostly only levitates clothes or things she's planning to use for decorating. Although it's possible telekinesis is just a generic unicorn pony power that everyone gets.
Twilight's special talent IS magic, so she can do all sorts of bullshit. She basically won the lottery as far as unicorn powers go.

Applejack has a distinct southwestern accent with a lot of mannerisms to go with it.
Rarity seems a bit english, But I'm guessing it's more New England WASP than anything else.
Fluttershy's squeeks are definitely notable, but the way she pronounces her "n"s is easily her most signiture mannerism.

How could anyone think Ponyville is a communist state? Granny Smith needs a hip replacement but they can't afford the... uhh, surgery? Magic? Whatever, they still can't afford to get it done.
