Anyway, OP, you've got a damn good point. The only defense I can think of is that she still honestly believed that she could finish the task alone, and did not want to burden anyone else with it. She told her brother she could do it alone, and wanted to push herself as far as possible that she could prove it. It wasn't so much that she was lying about her condition, but until it she hit her breaking point she didn't believe it herself.

I think you all take this shit too seriously. It's moe ponies being irritatingly cute. Like every other MLP show before. Also, there's a preexisting thread.

Applejack just didn't want to bother anyone else about what she thought was her duty. She really thought she could.

I've noticed, and I'm digging that, but it's weird to have it be such a big deal that the characters are supposed to embody specific virtues, only to turn around and ignore them later.

Rainbow proves she's the avatar of loyalty by choosing her friends instead of her dreams of joining aflying team. The VERY NEXT EPISODE has her undermining her friends to achieve her dreams of joining a flying team. I just find that odd.

I tend to see it as the elements being challenges for the ponies, rather than summaries. They represent them at their best, not what they're like all the time.

Rainbow Dash has demonstrated her loyalty by staying with her friends after being told to ditch them twice so far.

If I'm not mistaken the two-parter was made after the first few following episodes, which would explain the continuity errors. Really they're less of an embodiment of their element and more hyperboles of a specific personality. It definitely makes them more rounded characters. If they stuck to their single Element of Harmony trait, it'd probably be unwatchable.

Ok, So I'm thinking we have an Aviator Jacket like this one, but with greyish blue leather and the Wool on the neck flap there is a little longer and yellow so it looks like shortish bangs, then on the back of the Jacket we put two big Derpy eyes.

Back to OP's topic, I can't help but notice that the entire elements of harmony pilot plot seems to have been dropped entirelty and swept under the rug. She's more fitting of the loyalty element.

Rarity - Generosity, when she's even greedier than Rainbow Dash, trying to get a diamond from the dragon instead of, oh, I don't know, SAVING HER HOME TOWN. Not to mention she's an elitist, looking down with ponies of the wrong color (green) or a different species (zebras).

Applejack - Honest? Well, as the other anon pointed out, no. Loyal? Yes. Hardworking to the core, but sees nothing wrong with lying if it makes people not worry.

Rainbow Dash is self-centered as hell. She'd probably screw over another pony to get ahead. Her element should have been either honesty or really, bravery.

Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are alright, elements wise.

Picked up this today. Why is Princess Celestia the wrong color? Also, I want the second one to be out, because fluttershy and rarity are better than applejack and pinkie pie.

Pinkie is happy-laughs-a-lot because she's repressing her sadness. Raised by her grandmother who taught her to laugh at her fears instead of facing them, implied orphan, etc.

Ponies are very defensive compared to minis usually. They were originally bred for war, those surviving breeds, actually. Ponies, at least those surviving breeds, are more manueverable than a full horse, follow? Good light cavalry. Same as how big charger horses are quite aggressive. It can be trained out, of course, but it's a delicate process.

Most horses are pretty nice animals if they respect your dominance. If they don't they can tend to step all over you, sometimes literally.
