Getting better! next suggestion, if I may, is to practice with eyes a little. You have the idea but they just need to be placed on the head right or they work against you. For practice try drawing just the eyes and no other facial features on basic circles. This will give an idea of how you want to align them, where they're looking and give an idea of how the head is tilted. From there you can add the shape of the head (cheeks, chin, etc.) with the eyes as the base.

See the evidence, pictured left. In the first, we see Celestia and Luna. Now, we know to what degree these images match the reality: this picture of Luna matches, not the image of Nightmare Moon, but the colours and appearance of Princess Luna. We can see, in the next image, the difference when she has become Nightmare Moon. Her pelt turns black, her mane amorphous, and she is girded with a helmet and collar of some dark metal.

Note that Celestia, in this picture, is unchanged - save only that she now wears a crown. But look closer. THAT IS NOT THE SAME CROWN SHE WEARS TODAY. That is, in fact, the crown that Twilight Sparkle wore, when the power of the Elements of Harmony was upon her. And, one final note; see how smaller she is than Nightmare Moon. Before now, all who have seen it have assumed this to be entirely the work of perspective. But is it? Is it not possible that in this second scene, Celestia is actually smaller than her sister?

Finally, we see the third image, of Celestia resplendent on her throne. Note that, despite being the work of the same artist, Celestia has changed - her wings have changed colour, and she now wears a golden crown and collar, both of unknown origin. And is she, perhaps, more slender? Larger? This is the Celestia we know today. How strange, that after putting on mysterious armour, Celestia's body and hair have changed - just like Luna's did, in becoming Nightmare Moon. The evidence is incontrovertible.

When the same source does something like this - the change between two images of Celestia - it must mean something of significance. Compared to the normal differences between ponies, the change is huge - if it didn't mean something, it would have been caught as an error.

Young adult by definition means no younger than 18. If you insist that they need to be child-like or children, then the youngest you can go is 18, and if we're going by human measurements of age and maturity (which is the only relevant way to measure it seeing as they're anthropomorphic), they are old enough to be considered legal adults.
