Trixie is sort of an interesting antagonist (I'm hesitant to call her a villain), but I wonder what her game was? PLENTY of the residents of Ponyville can do magic, so it's not like she had services to render. Notice also that while she boasted that she could do anything better than anypony else, she actually didn't. Dash, AJ and Rarity each demonstrated a salient talent, Trixie merely attacked them rather than besting them at their thing. She's not a complete fraud, but is NOWHERE near as talented as she claims. And what's with the little travelling show in the first place? I expected to see some bigger scam at work, but evidently not.
So fictioneers, where do you go with this? I'll admit up front that I'm not a huge fan of the "recurring villain" (in anything) because it tends to get overused and becomes a writing crutch, but if Trixie were to show back up in Ponyville, why might that be? Some ideas:
- She doesn't really have the makings of a super villain (from what we've been shown), but how about as a henchpony to a REAL menace?
- Eye deep in shit, she comes back to ask Twilight for help. You could play this either way with a still arrogant Trixie or a repentant, humble Trixie who's done a bit of growing up
- A mysterious unicorn arrives in Ponyville asking to use the Library to do some research for a vital (legitimate) task. Polite and withdrawn, the girls soon learn that this is Trixie in disguise. Again, she could still be a bitch, or so humiliated by her previous performance, she couldn't face Twilight, AJ and Rarity.
- Seeing AJ in apple bondage was SO deeply satisfying, she HAD to do it again... several times. While the residents of Ponyville are shocked, the bronies of /co/ just keep snapping vidcaps... |
