Alright bronies, here's 2 character builds for Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. I made Twilight first and after some good responses, I made Dash. So here they are.

I tried to make them as faithful to the show as possible from screencaps, and they are all fully built with pivot points. There are a few mouths and blinks, as well as left and right views.

You will need Flash CS3 or CS4 to play with them.
Even if you don't want to animate, they are great for recolouring and making your own poney.

Or just look up some character animation tutorials and have fun! Or... find some fucked up music and tween them across the screen, I dunno. Save and repost for any ponyfags who appreciate it, that mediafire won't last forever. ENJOY!

My brother and all my male friends though? They flat out refused to watch stuff with a female lead. Those were "girls' shows". But girls don't tend to have the same mentality, they'll generally avoid stuff that's OBVIOUSLY skewed towards males(GI Joe, Transformers) they'd still watch and adore shit like Darkwing Duck, Ninja Turtles etc.

Firefly's Adventure was my introduction to ponies when I was four. I own the DVD releases of all the original show's episodes, and a few bootlegs of the stuff that never did get released. Most animated series don't pause production between seasons. They work right through so they can keep the same animation team usually. The industry works on contract and if you take a break after episode 12 or 13, then your animators may have already taken another contract somewhere else.

I'm in another thread currently where people are discussing why it's so rare for there to be strong female characters who are actually feminine and not just male personalities in a female body.

I think a lot of /co/ would agree that a lot of female characters who are actually protagonists are usually very ungirly overall, and the idea of competent but feminine characters in cartoons or any form of media is a breath of fresh air.

And here we have a cartoon in which the entire main cast is female, and they're all well-written and likable and only one is a tomboy, but at the same time still definitely a female character overall, but a good amount of /co/ won't accept it because now it makes them question their sexuality.

This is why we can't have nice things, because people can't make up their minds.

I am so fucking sick of all these other 23-30 year old women fucking ragging on this show.

Detailed art =/= good animation
Details =/= good design

Funny enough, the simpler a character is, the easier it is to do good animation. It means less redrawing stupid little hair curls/stripes/etc. and more time for drawing complex or subtle motion.

Say what you will, even if you dislike the actual DESIGNS, the animation is well done in the show. Smooth, subtle. It's not jaggedy and the body parts don't all just tween at the same time.
