It's not that they don't have puns, it's that it's near impossible to translate them between languages. Why do you think there's such a divide over subbing vs dubbing? A lot of dubs have to decide between bringing the joke over intact, and hoping the audiences understand, or remaking a different joke that keeps the spirit if not the word.
