I tend to be practical so I don't care if I'm working on a kids show, girl's show, blood and guts adult, etc. Guys typically enjoy the work for the sake of improving the show wherever possible. I would just like to say that I LOVE what you guys are doing with what's been given to you. The humor, the art, and the writing has all been there so far, and I hope it sticks around. I'm sad that after the success over the last ten years of things like Sailor Moon and Avatar: TLAB that even the suits would begin to understand that kids appreciate shit too, and that the reason things like Toy Story are SO POPULAR is because there are multiple channels of humor and entertainment for ALL ages.

Is the show animated in Flash? Pretty sure it is, just wondering. Also, is there a desire to try to animate as fluidly as possible? Like, is it their mission to avoid that stiff shit that Flash so easily creates. I know you're not an animator for this, show, just curious if you know any details.

No, you don't have to go to an animation collage, I know some guys who are in the business who never went, but still got a job in this career. They were hard workers though. But animation collage is very helpful, you learn a lot, and it's easier to land a job, but I presume your good at what you do though.

Just a heads up, I'm only a layout artist who gets to dip in to a bit of most of the shows. The crew is at least one hundred talented people. I'm sharing because I'm really happy to see that people appreciate animation and would love to see more people who care about creating or even voicing that they want quality work. I think this show has a fair bit of shortcomings however, given the limitations of commercial work, it's done great to get to where it is and the quality of the coming episodes are truly getting better and better and better.

As a layout pose and scene setup, we try our absolute best to make it easy for an animator to go from expression to expression with as little redrawing as possible. If this is getting archived, answering where I went to school could nail me to a cross. Seriously, as much as I don't want to care what execs will take offense to; people are just too unpredictable when it comes to businesses.

As for what got me into animation, video games and cartoons did it. Specifically, cartoons that gave two shits about quality art and music, so mostly anime and 1940s-70s cartoons. Story and music blended into an atmosphere that you control. I was set on making video games and will still likely go that way. I've been doing 2D for a long time though and breaking into 3D will take more study than I have time for at present.

Hi /a/! I'm the drawfag who drew that pic and posted it here a couples days ago. I asked that day people to give me suggestions for edits and more ponies.
Most ponies in the pic are simply based on their respective board-tans. /a/ and /v/ have kind of bland board-tans and I had troubles thinking how to make pony caricatures of them. This is why that first draft didn't include them, and why I drew silly, over-the-top stuff like /k/ and /d/ first.

However, I got a lot of suggestions for more board-tans from other anons, and I will eventually post a coloured version of that pic which will have a couple more ponies.

I've had people suggesting that /v/ should be Robot Unicorn or some kind of rage pony, but I think I'll try to make it resemble /v/'s board-tan.
