I'd bet quite a bit on it NOT being frogs, actually. Frogs seem to have some kind of mythological significance to the Incipisphere natives - both Prospit and Derse - which would not make much sense if they were mere consorts.

A flash is pretty possible. According to the Trollian timeline, Jade is about to enter any second. Even Hussie would find it a challenge to stretch that to the end of the act.

There's also plenty of stuff lined up for the other characters too. Rose has just discovered the green sun, Dave has found the golden crocodile place, which may or may not be the LOHACSE and Karkat is just about to witness Lord English destroying Troll Prospit.

Plenty of fodder for a flash.
