The big bad of the trolls' session was the 12x prototyped black king. Jack only beat the kids' one so easily because he had the ring and got the jump on him so he could destroy his sceptre and take his crown. Right now, Sovereign Slayer is both a king and queen so when he took the white sceptre, the reckoning happened pre-emptively. Jade's not even in the game yet and the reckoning is meant to be one of the final events of the game.

Yeah, the White King always dies. Derse gets ahold of the meteor-summoning scepter, uses it to attack Skaia, and Skaia sends the meteors to the players' homeworld, bringing them into the game in the first place. The players are to save Skaia when the game is lost and perform the ultimate alchemy, whatever that is.
