It's hard to tell why Kyouko suicided since we have no understanding of the dialogue yet so don't get too judgemental so soon.

I'm guessing Kyouko was reflecting on her future and if she would become a witch too eventually. And in doing so became more acceptable to death as being an option over becoming a witch eventually. So she decided to take a graceful exit. End the tormented existence of a person who you truly wanted to be friends with along with your own. Hell, maybe Kyouko was even in love with her.

Though this is pure speculation. I need to read their dialogue for a true idea of what was going on in their heads.
