Took me a minute to notice the new thread.

I finished Ticket Master and I've got some thoughts. This show isn't what I expected, really. It's not bad, but it doesn't really seem to stand out, either. I don't understand the rampant popularity, not because I dislike it, but because it just seems like your ordinary kid's cartoon. I'm not really a fan of how every episode seems to slice it up into five equal parts as each of the characters, in turn, has their moment in the spotlight. Rarity does something fashionable, then there's something with animals, and then AppleJack brings some food in.

I think I would have preferred if it had ended without them all getting tickets, but trying to look at a kid's show for messages of solidarity being its own reward seems foolish.

I can't really explain the popularity myself. I mean it's a good cartoon, but it's not a fantastic cartoon.
I think it's because everything else seems so shitty these days and the fact that it's a decent girl's cartoon, which hardly ever happens, makes it stand out all the more. Plus it has cute shit, and people love cute shit.

On the fan side of things, I guess it helps the art is so simple and it's easy for people to make terrible OC's quickly.

I know. And that's why it would have been better if they didn't kill them. Look I have nothing against dead parents. It can be easily done good but at least make it serve a purpose. Make it affect the character.

They could have made them so much more. Make them ignore the apple family tradition of working on farms, make them world famous travelers, make her mother the inspiration for Daring Do or something like this.

Instead they just say their dead and that;s it. AJ isn't really affected, neither is AB or Big Mac. They just kinda are dead in the show. The end.

The Mayor is a neat character. She reminds me of the Mayor from Nightmare Before Christmas in the way she keeps smiling.
