Here's a drawing by artist John K.

Ren's eye is hideously distended and disproportioned. Stimpy's eyes are also disproportioned. One of them is sticking out over the nose, which shouldn't be happening. The noses themselves are of unnatural color. Ren's shoulders are too high. The background is fully rendered but the only hint of rendering is the specular on Stimpy's nose.

None of these are technical problems. John K knows exactly what he's drawing, and this is what he wants. This is his style.

Although I've seen incredible things and wouldn't really be surprised if he had only been drawing for a few months: there are stories of people who understand how a musical instrument really quickly, and just have to improve technically afterwards. I don't know if that's the same with drawing though.
