I don't really see all that much room for the animation to increase. Personally, whenever I watch season three episodes I don't notice any glaring issues, and one thing that makes me glad is that they really toned down on the full-frontal-smiles that were so prevalent in season two for whatever reason (someone is going to reply to this with -that picture-, you know the one). I know there's always room for improvement, but whenever I see people complain about the animation quality I just don't get it. I'm not going to deny I have low standards, and I'm certainly not an animation guru, but really, what is there to improve upon?

This was a great episode, and I didn't even notice the appearance Bronies are gloating about, and I was actually looking for it. It was that insignificant.

How sad their lives must be that despite being completely obsessed with a show about love, friendship, respect, and pony princesses, they simply cannot internalize any of those values and are instead dead-set on trying to turn it into something ugly and hateful. The more I think about it, the more sorry I feel for them. The answer to their insecurity and despair is right in front of their faces and they can't take the hint.

No, it just so happened that a lot of people liked cute ponies doing cute things.

The constant use of music was a good choice.
Made the episode more dynamic, heard some of the characters who don't sing much sing and it gave the episode a much larger sense of scale and importance.
If the music pieces were just a bit more varied, it would have been excellent.

Also, I never realised how great of a singing voice Dash has.

I just can't be hopeful for Equestria Girls when I've heard so much about the show staff hating working on it almost as much as everyone else hates the prospect of it. I know, those are just rumors (at least, I think they're just rumors, Twitter's layout confuses me to the point that I rarely go fact checking on this shit so I just take everything I hear came from Twitter with a huge grain of salt), but the cynic in me is really just coming out in full force with EG.

I really don't want to judge it before we even know what it's about, but I can't help myself. Personally, I'd rather speculate about the movie. We still have no information on what it's going to be about, right? Do we even know if the movie is FiM and not part of Equestria Girls? I don't come here very often anymore, I'm pretty far behind in all the rumors and such. Hopefully the movie will pick up right where the finale left off, with Twily getting started in her newfound princesshood.

Hopefully it won't just be a FiM/Equestria Girls crossover to get EG started. I mean, even if EG is decent, I really don't want that. That would just feel hamfisted as all hell.

So it will very likely be a crossover with Equestria Girls (yes, I read the first half of your post, but I'd rather just continue referring to it as EG since most everyone else seems to be doing so). Again, I don't want to judge EG before we know anything about it, but that really does not help with my cynicism.

At least it will be something to tide us over during hamburger time, though. Better to have a glass of (potentially) muddy water than a drought.
