We don't know how long the luna cycle is in Equestria.
Given the last reunion that was shown was at the very beginning of Season 1, and from a few things throughout Season 2 it seems like each season takes place over a year, it would be somewhere around 2-3 years between reunion.

Also, Apple Bloom looked the same back at the beginning of Season 1, so that picture is technically accurate.

Each reunion happens every 8 years
AJ was a toddler 16 years ago.
She is probably 17-18 years old. 19 at most
Chronicles happened according to AJ when she was younger than AB but old enough to be at school so when she was between 7-9 years old
AB wasn't born yet and her parents weren't at the farm since they weren't there to see AJ leaving and at least wave goodbye.
AJ's parents should have been alive or had recently died before the last reunion.
