Unsure about being canon pony or OC. OC provides more character investment and potential, while canon pony requires adhering to a character and limiting your choices a bit more.

Again, I'll leave it up to the players, but I think a player made character would be better for flexibility.

I don't know, character voice has never been a problem for me, but that's only from rewatching an episode like 10 times to get motivations and a hunch for how they'd react down.

That said I've had to tone down Pinkie before.

It's not like she's totally unaware how to deal with normal "human" interaction, but sometimes she's totally off the walls and that takes up a lot of dialogue just to calm her down again and get back on track. So I allude to it through narration, like "Twilight still had a ringing headache from Pinkie's latest musical number. She made a mental note to work out better sound proofing in the private train cars and, despite her nature, asking Trixie if it were possible to just remove vocal chords."

This. Has been amazing. I do that when I need a solid refresher. Doing the shipping stuff though stuff that obviously puts them out of character is the most difficult. It pains me how long it takes to come up with the most characteristic portrayal in a non-characteristic setting.

That's what bothers me most. I spend so much time attempting to get good characterization and story across it takes me forever to get anything out to the General.

Oh, I assumed he meant the question was for something at this moment. I've got plenty of ideas for stories I've been working on, playgrounds for my imagination that I create characters for, characters I've created interacting with each other, and all kinds of great stuff.

But you're right. I do write for attention and applause. I write for attention because I want people to read what I write. Obviously I write for my own enjoyment, but it feels great to see other people take enjoyment from what I've written. As for writing for applause. That's good too, but poor reviews are just as good. I use them to get better. If I was receiving constant applause all the time, I'd think there was something wrong. It would make me paranoid to all hell.
