There is no real canon, its mostly what the author wants.

The most accepted is

1) initial release: hugbox era, fluffies are expensive

2) sustained period: prices drop, more fluffies are owned. First abuse starts to happen.

3) fluffies in the wild: some blame PETA/animal rights group, some say irresponsible owners. Either way fluffies start to become strays and feral. The first wild herds start to form.

4) Fluffpocalypse/abuse world: enough breeders make it out and there is a population explosion, abuse is rampant. Prices are negligible. Fluffies are over running cities and suburbs. Herds are now sustained, fluffies have learned over time how to survive and herds are more organized.


But as I said timelines will change to fit the stories or pictures. I haven't given much thought to Equestrian fluffies. Other than 'Only Human' I really haven't really thought on how they came to be. I just view those as an off shoot from the regular ponies.

As always, Chrome is recommended because the other browsers suck hard at javascript. Internet Explorer support has now been DROPPED because of the webgl api not being supported. The new one in Win8 might work, dunno.

Changes this version (a full changelog is available at the site):

- Entirely overhauled the graphics so that it works through WebGL now, which means instead of basic pixel-level stuff I have access to pixel shaders and all the fun that entails.
- 3d fluffies (though still an ugly, flawed placeholder model with 5 second texture)
- Temporary code chaos. It's a mess in there right now. Only the basic merging of the two code sets is done so far.
- Still no gameplay additions.

It would be great to have a zoom out feature, not sure if that is in the works.

Can't tell if they are still eating grass.

Fluffy environment collision seems fine but fluffy/fluffy collision needs work, they enter into each other's bodies.

So far looking good though. Fluffies seem a lot more defined.

Zoom isn't planned because the 3d projection is orthographic rather than perspective - how far away the camera is panned makes no difference at all (in fact, if the projection was perspective, it would look all wrong because of the way everything is placed in the scene - it's very much trickery). A minimap is planned however.

They are eating the grass, but the image which changes because of that is currently not referenced by the terrain shader - so it isn't shown in the actual image. This will be fixed when I get stuff a bit more integrated.

The collision will be better later when there is animation and when the fluffies actually pay attention to where they're going (other than not into a wall). They kinda did the same when they were 2d too.

Thanks, they're still nowhere near how I eventually want them though. Placeholder model is very placeholder, but it all depends on me working animation out and how I'm going to structure stuff.

(p.s. To everyone, don't refresh it over and over, webgl leaks memory like a bitch when refreshing and will quickly eat up everything you have until the window/tab is closed. The fault is in WebGL itself, not the game.)

That was kinda the expected result unfortunately. It's a lot harder on the system in terms of graphics capability, but for what it takes in additional hardware it should way more than make up for with nice effects down the line. Heck, the fluffies are 3d now - that's a massive addition to the complexity of the scene all by itself.

The true test comes when I add the post-process effects rendering pass - at the moment everything is directly rendered to the output canvas, but when the post pass is added it will be rendered to another intermediate texture and that will be rendered to the canvas with another shader in effect. If it's still running well for you when that is in place, it should be fine whatever I throw at it (within reason). 40 is good, that's just about the lower bound of it being properly smooth though.

A cardboard city that was built by fluffies is suddenly raid by hunters and in the aftermath, the remains the ruins of the city with the bodies of fluffies lying around. And in end shows the Fluffies that lived through the raid being loaded on to a truck and taken to a petshop.

Let me go more in-depth: the dam goes to sleep, and is injected with some kind of tranquilizer to keep her asleep. Then, the foals are taken out of her and replaced with bean-bags. The foals are cut up and cooked (one of the foals, if I am not mistaken, being Fluffyshy), and put into spaghetti, which is then served to the awoken mare as "spaghetti and meatballs."
