And it'd take a long time for me to pin down just how Celestia would feel, having been courted as this very very old thing, a regal, a royal, and a demigod - when really what she wants more than anything is to be told she's beautiful without the crown and still a woman with desires, and someone who understands that tension - but one who doesn't have a madonna/whore complex.

I can't imagine how conflicted she must feel and reluctant she is to allow someone to get that intimate with her, for fear they're only after EITHER her political power OR her beauty for one night. She's got several hundred years' emotional hangups to deal with, and though she can't expect forever with a mortal, she wants more than a one-off with a Griffon courtier.
