1. We know shit about the quality of S3. And don't give the bullshit about how most of the original staff left. S2 is still great even if Lauren and Rob weren't that involved. And other shows lost their first writers and got better after getting new ones. Don't be so fucking pessimist
2. Of course the show will end. But the thing is that MLP is still one of Hasbro's biggest money maker. And why did they haired this experienced crew to make it? Because they learned that if they put more effort and more money in something it could give back even more money. And FiM did that. The money generated by FiM already surpassed the previous gens. And they want money. They will do the same for the next gens too. They will try to get a good crew to work on them.

3. We also don't know about how when it will end
The 13 episode thing isn't enough to mean the show will end.
Hasbro ordered the first full 2 season from the start and Jayson said that was very unusual and that they made a very big gamble. They are a corporation. They usually play safe. This is no exception. Some important persons from the crew left. Of course they would play cautiously. And this is a golden situation for them. if it fails they have the 65 episodes needed for syndication and they won't lose nothing. If S2 is successful enough and the figures add up they will order the second part of it. They want money. And they won't refuse a chance to get it with a low chance of failure.

4. Even if S3 is the end look at the past gens. All of them had movies. G 3 POINT FUCKING 5 HAD MOVIES. Do you think they will let something as successful as FiM get away with it? No.

That feel when you discover Rapelay for the first time

so yeah, ever since this shit went down hill, I've found that I'm almost never excited for a new episode.

I've said this once before, and I guess I'll have to say it again:
The Simpsons.
Today, seasons one and two of The Simpsons are considered extremely dated and nowhere near as good as the rest of the series before the year 2000. Seasons 3-5 are generally regarded as the "golden years". What people forget is that the first two seasons of The Simpsons were fucking HUGELY POPULAR. A lot of people thought it was one of the best TV cartoons to come along in years. After the second season, the vast majority of the writing staff were replaced with the crew that would stay on through season three. It became more than a fun cult show that you wouldn't expect to be so good. It became one of the best TV shows of the 90s, period. And it continued to be, at least, better than the first two seasons for five more seasons! Now, I'm not saying that seasons 3 through 5 of FiM will be as good as 3-5 of The Simpsons. I'm not saying comparing 3-5 of FiM to seasons 1-2 will be like comparing those seasons of The Simpsons. I'm not even saying that we'll get five seasons! What I AM saying is that a change in writing staff is not the death of a show, and can even be good for it. It's not the end of the world, nor even the end of the series.
