So I hear. I guess I need to stick it through, but that's going to be hard, as usually if something doesn't catch me midway through the first season, I give up on it. I simply don't have the time or energy to invest more than six or seven hours on something before making a decision as to whether I want to invest more or not and Teen Titans isn't giving me the same impulse I get from other cape cartoons.

I actually feel the same way about Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. JL, JLU, BTAS, B:TBATB, even The Batman all caught me, but A:EMH just doesn't. It's a bit sad.

I don't want to be too defensive, but I will say that there's no effort on my part to make that type of vocabulary come out - it just happens naturally. I think articulacy in explanation is a virtue, so I try to use the most specific words to convey a meaning that I can, when applicable.

It does have the side-effect of making me sound like a pretentious douchebag, which I admit I probably am.

Knowing this person on a personal level I can tell you it is not so much the butchering of the other through sophism, but more so a disregard for simplifications. Is this smart? I don't think so, but if the author doesn't want to simplify their writing, then so be it.
The points he makes are actually well understandable and steer clear of intellectualism. It's simply the tone with which they are delivered which tricks the reader into thinking other ways.
