03/04/12(Sun)00:39 No.372104>>372014 Let's not forget that most of the writing crew of The Simpsons changed after the second season, and most people thought The Simpsons was the best thing to come around in ages before that. The crew that came aboard the third season and stuck around through the fifth season pretty much made the "golden age" of The Simpsons. Nowadays, the first two seasons look shitty by comparison. Now, I'm not saying that a new writing crew is going to make season three onward as good as that period of The Simpsons, or that the first two seasons are going to look shitty by comparison, but there's no reason to be fatalistic. Seasons three through five of FIM are some of the greatest cartoons in ages. Seasons six through nine are not as good but still plenty better than the first two seasons. Then it starts to suck, but continues for decades, regardless. Nobody gives a shit about the first two seasons anymore, outside of novelty. |
