The guard was wide eyed and stiff in posture, his mane and tail tangled and smothered with dirt, and his armor and helmet were not their usual resplendent sheen of smooth gold, but scratched and tarnished as though they were brought fresh from a large and bitter battle>Celestia hushed the pony with a comforting "Shh", and bade him to explain the situation calmly, her tone concerned but mild>"We have found a creature. A creature unlike anything documented in the archives or spoken of in training." he spoke, his tone was still panicked but he at least managed to keep a lid on his original word vomit>"We found it on the outskirts. Pink, it was. Well, more of a peachy color. Sorry, that doesn't matter. What matters is what it did." He bit his lip and forced himself to continue.>"Tell me about this creature, my loyal guard." Celestia said kindly, her tone gentle and soothing. This stricken pony had been through a lot, but Celestia needed to know more. "Tell me as we walk to the area where you found it. Is it dead?"

Celestia did not know this guard personally, assuming he was a fresh recruit. Celestia's words of comfort seemed to have an effect, as the guard's stiff shoulders slackened as he allowed himself a moment of respite.>"It's tall, taller than you, Princess. It walks like the Minotaur but its legs are straight and true. It had no hair at all, save for some on its head. We approached it and ordered it to identify itself, as the manual dictates.">"What happened then?" Celestia pondered for a moment, trying to form an image of the creature in her head. Her golden shoes gently clinked on the soft peach colored marble floors of the palace, whereas in contrast the guard's heavy boots slapped the ground harshly.>they reached the doorway and headed outside, the guard respectfully held the large wooden door open and allowed the Princess through the door first. He followed after her.>"The creature spoke to us, at first. We couldn't understand it, but it spoke." He said with slightly distance, as though the upcoming memories were too harsh. "We tried to speak to it, but it looked terrified. We knew what to do, the fauna manual states a panicked creature should not be corralled or approached when under duress.">"Well done. Your recognition of the benefit of these teachings is important, my guard."

He continues, "We knew to send one pony over to perhaps talk to it using body language or symbols. The creature responded well at first. it was very confused, though. That much was obvious.">By then the two ponies had reached a winding stairway that coursed down a small hill into a wonderfully landscaped courtyard. A large wall ran around the perimeter, above which sat the barely noticeable (against the dark sky at least) outline of trees >They were getting close, now. A few more guards came into view. Though they were decidedly less disheveled than the unnamed guard accompanying Celestia, their demeanor was one of similar shock.>"I was the one sent to talk to it. I told them I didn't want to, but they said the experience would be important and Captain Shining Armor would take too long to get there.">"Your courage is commendable," Celestia offered calmly. She recognized the situation might be somewhat more exceptional than she'd at first realized, as the Guard's inexperience had led her to believe he was at first being hyperbolic. Now, though, her interest was piqued. Finally, something interesting has happened at last!

You are terrified, and with good reason. You had just tried to talk to a pony. Which, at least to you, had tried to talk back. That was bad enough, but this pony was wearing armor and carried a spear. It came out of a castle. It had companions with similar dress and weapons. You, for unknown reasons, panicked and attacked it when it tried to grab you. At least you thought it did. Your mind is racing and you are in a strange place. You are being chased. you cannot think straight as your instincts have taken over and now there is only the need to survive.What do you do?
