While you draw, take into account what's going on. How do you get something to look glassy? To look wet? To look folded? How does the light hit the object I'm working on?It's a good way to learn how to draw. From there, I'd practice freehand copying other art styles that you like and trying to mimic them. When you feel confident enough, start blossoming out and doing your own thing.I know it's generic advice, but it worked in my case.
