I liked SM3DL but it's really easy until damn near the end of the first playthrough. The extra levels are great, though.

MK7 is okay. It's not as good as DS imo, but the online is decent (WAKA WUHU MAKA WUHU) and it's MK, yaknow.

I guess we saw opportunity and potential in our skills early on, and decided to go somewhere with them.
Through actual classes and shitty online tutorials we came around to where we are today.

It takes a lot of practice. You can't just become an artist in a flash, but if you want to be one you gotta start somewhere.

If you legitimately want to art then start by drawing shit. Draw all the shit. All of it. Just empty out your mind onto your paper.
Or your Photoshop; whatever.

The key to everything is practice, though.

The thing is, you have to actually enjoy what you're doing--it's for you too, not just for others' amusement.

Your fanfic is nice but could have been executed better. I don't think it had the right amount of >feel; a bit more sadness on Bonbon's end and a bit more obliviousness on Lyra's would have been better.
With something short like that you don't want to make the reader feel that they wasted their time. Instead you want to cram as much >feel and d'aww as you can into two pages.

Overall it was all right but would have been more fun to read if you'd revised it a bit after you wrote it.
You could try revising it now, that could help.

While you guys are training yourself and studying, keep an inspiration folder with your tutorials and references. Aim yourself as you draw so you have something to look at and add to your mental library.

If you keep it active, you should be able to just draw without an actual idea of what you're trying to draw because you still have some ammo in your head.

As far as I can tell there's no good way to run it in Linux. Both the Java and Windows versions fuck up big time.

I think there is a Python version that uses GTK+ that works okay.

There's also qponies if you use KDE, but honestly I've never tried it.

"Instead, you put me in this GHASTLY outfit and tie me to this... contraption?!"

She gestured to the bright green jumpsuit she'd been practically forced into (who in their right mind would make ANYTHING bright green?!) and over her shoulder to the crude glider on her back - a triangular armature of metal laths, covered with heavy canvas. "Really, I MUST protest this, Rainbow Dash!"

"Need you to relax for a second, ma'am. Just checking the lines." The oldest pegasus clipped something to a buckle on her front - a heavy metal clip attached to a long tension line, and attached it to the back of a colt wearing a similar harness.

"Cool it, princess! This'll be fun!" She sat down on the runway, and gave the unicorn a cheeky grin, "for ONE of us, anyway."

"This HARDLY looks safe! What if something happens? I could hit a tree, or a bird! I could be SEEN wearing this--- THIS!!" her voice nearly cracked as she gestured to the outfit again; could they honestly NOT see how hideous the color was?! But Rainbow Dash gave her a dismissive wave.

"I said chill out! These guys do this all the time - they're almost as good at flying as me!"

The words hardly gave Rarity any comfort. She continued to glare sullenly at Rainbow Dash as the colt slipped a helmet over her perfectly-coiffed mane and set the lumpy, ungainly goggles over her eyes, no doubt smearing her mascara. Meanwhile, his partner, a mare, clipped a second line to the unicorn, then to her back, before giving it a quick tug. What she saw, Rarity had no clue, but she nodded, satisfied.

She heard the older pegasus again. "Arright, we're takin' off in just a minute! You got Tailslide and Chandelle pullin' you today - they'll be doing all the hard stuff! All you gotta do is hang on tight!"

She'd have no problem doing that - she was already gripping the handles on the glider so tightly they would need magic to pry her off of it. She clenched her perfect white teeth and tried to maintain her composure as adrenaline buzzed through her, making everything shake. Despite her best efforts, however, a small whimper escaped her lips, and she could have sworn she heard Rainbow Dash snicker before she heard Tailslide's voice.

"Okay! Go go GO!"

"Have fun up there!" Even without seeing her, Rarity could HEAR the disgusting smirk in Rainbow Dash's voice. She opened her mouth to retort, but was quickly drowned out by her own screaming as the lines pulled taut and she was promptly yanked off the ground and into the air.

Whenever you talk to yourself you don't talk badly about yourself unless it's through sarcasm. Cory is modeled after myself, I am the type to make fun of myself in such an extreme manner. Imagine if you would a comic book "nerd" narrating his life and putting a spin on it as if he had readers. I can probably put in some changes to make it more clear that he isn't seriously insulting himself.

If you read chapter 2, I had switched the names for the friend and Tom is supposed to be frank. That was an oversight on my part.

The switch to 3rd person after the teleport is confusing. Do you think a full switch to just 3rd person would be best? I was actually planning to have the 1st person switch between Cory and Frank several times in the story to give different perspectives.

Twilight is out of character now that you point it out to me. I'll see what I can do about that. An excuse to watch the show more. She isnt my favorite.

I read one of your earlier post you're new to writing. Okay, doing multiple perspectives is hard. You're throwing yourself in a minefield with a blindfold. Stick to one perspective.

Swearing is cheap especially in writing. How often do you read curse words in a book? Yea I thought so. You're better then that. I'm a screenwriter and even I avoid it, knowing that I can get away with it better then you can.
