Attention 4chan extension/user script/archive developers: Some time in the next few days, we'll be rolling out a complete HTML rewrite of the imageboards.
The design will remain the same, but the underlying HTML/CSS is completely new, and validates HTML5/CSS3 (with some tweaks to account for cross-browser compatibility).

As a regular user, these changes should not affect you. You will need to update your 4chan browser extensions/user scripts when their maintainer updates them to be compatible with the changes.

Listen, I had had fun there. I had fun in Kongregate chats. I had fun in a lot of places. I know see my time there attraction there was simply because I was able to relate to those posters and I enjoyed the fast pace movement of the threads. Basically, it was a phase for half a year. I was for all intents and purposes a ponychan brony. I felt a wave of joy and excitement every time ponys came up outside of /b/ or Kongregate.

It was a result of my age and level of maturity at the time. It was something I feel into, and I grew out of it, however I now see it wasn't flwaless or pretty. It would seem that most MLPG-goers still have /co/ in common, though not necessarily as a main board. /v/ also factors heavily, though not as much as I had expected with the saturation of /v/ meme usage in MLPG. This may be due to the steam group currently playing Team Fortress 2. This survey will be repeated at a later date to test this hypothesis. In general, it seems MLPG draws from boards that center on imagination and fantasy - /tg/, /co, /x/, even /v/ to some extent - which fits with the escapist nature of a fandom centered around My Little Pony. I sometimes feel out of place here, hailing as I do primarily >>1625486

It also seems that MLPG has a vampiric effect on the home boards of its users - the thread is there 24/7, updating, producing art and >feels when it's good, and brony rage and Ross when it's not.

It appears that MLPG is equally divided between people from /co/'s initial curiosity about the show, those who picked it up after it spread (by troll or genuine enthusiasm) to other boards, and those who started watching during the summer interregnum. No responses, interestingly, from people who may have started watching during season 2. Perhaps 4chan has reached saturation for new fans of the show, and the rest are assimilating into the greater fandom of Equestria Daily and Ponychan. It's also possible, of course, that new viewers have not yet left the /b/read or their home boards in favor of MR. PONE'S WILD RIDE. Additionally, those who picked up the show from outside /co/ tended to find and join MLPG several months later - this may account for the perceived shift in culture over the summer of 2011.

Since I'm sure many of you weren't here for the first night, or those who were don't remember all of the details because of how long ago it was, I'll start from the beginning - you are a beige earth pony who has been framed as the leader of a Discord-worshiping cult. Your cousin, Mary Lou going to be honest here, I legitimately do not remember the name I picked out for her, so I'm improvising, has luckily offered you shelter in the small town of Appaloosa. While here, you have decided to introduce yourself under the alias Rusty Shackleford, and you intend to find out anything you can about who framed you.

You bolt upright in bed, sweat pouring down your forehead. Already the dream has faded from your memory - all you can vividly recall is a large cave, and some kind of statue - but you still feel wary of it. You close the bedroom door behind you, and begin your routine. Luckily, she has several extra toothbrushes, so you're able to breeze through it without any issues. You use the door connected to the hallway to leave, then look at the two remaining doors.

You quickly open the door just enough to glance inside, and you notice... a completely empty room. The walls are bare, the wood flooring appears to have recently been mopped and waxed, and the room gives you a very discomforting feel. While you were pondering upon this room, however, Mary Lou had enough time to make it up the stairs behind you. She clears her throat, and you spin around, attempting to stammer out an excuse. You try to explain that you were searching for the bathroom, but you can tell she isn't buying it. You apologize, telling her you were just curious.

"Fine, fine, it's alright," she replies. "If you really want to know, I was renting that room out to a unicorn I met a few months ago. She made a gracious offer, and she seemed nice enough, but she moved out two weeks ago without even saying goodbye. She had supplied all of the furniture herself - where she got it from, I have no idea - but the only thing she left behind was this month's rent."

When you get to the foot of the stairs, you ask if there are any leftovers. "Accourse there are," she says. "There's more fruit and veggies than you could ever need, and there's farm-fresh eggs in the fridge, if you know how to cook 'em. Help yourself!" With that, she walks back outside, closing the door behind her. Through the nearby kitchen window, you observe her bending down and tending to a small garden.

After making yourself a small but filling breakfast, you step out onto the front porch, but walk back through the front door a second later. You notice several old western hats sitting on the hat rack by the door, and decide to take one, deciding that Mary won't mind. You return to the front porch again, surveying the town.

You notice a saloon, a sheriff's station, a general goods store, what appears to be either a book store or a library, several other houses and farms, and a doctor's office. You aren't sure where to go first, or what to even do when you get there.

Weighing your options, you suddenly come up with an idea - deliver what you have now, and just tell the store owner what happened. Unhooking yourself and walking inside, you quickly notice the contrast from the local markets back in Ponyville - the batwing doors (you thought those were only in saloons), the rough wood flooring, the lazy fans on the ceiling paddling the soupy, humid air around. This town isn't just western, it's authentically old western. "Can I help you?" a female voice asks, interrupting your observation, and you turn to notice a stunning yellow pegasus behind the counter. She's wearing a bonnet, she has freckles, and she's just about the prettiest pony you've ever laid eyes on.

You continue talking, and occasionally laughing at each other, until the cart is empty and the sun lies low on the horizon. "Say," she says, "hows 'bout we hit the saloon together? I can show yah who's who 'round Appaloosa!"

"I was just waitin' for him to get back so I could hit the hay," she says. "I'm tuckered out. Y'all have fun, though." With that, she walks inside, and you find yourself alone again with Bloom.

"Welp, guess it's just gonna be the two of us," she says, then smiles. "Oh well, more cider for us!"

You tell Bloom that you're really sorry, and you offer to help around the store again tomorrow to make up for it. She takes a moment to consider, making your heart sink, but the smile that comes across her face makes you realize that's the only reason she did it. "That'd be fine, Rusty. I think payin' for a few drinks is worth more of your company tomorrow." With that, your heart shoots back up into its former position, before making its way into your throat.

"We've been talking a lot about myself, but what about you, Sunflower?" you ask, almost to the saloon. "Rusty, please, call me Bloom," she says. "Anyway, there ain't much to tell - I grew up here, as y'all might've already guessed, and my parents owned the general store. They're retired now, and I took over for 'em. I'll hafta introduce you to 'em some time, they'd love to meet yah," she says, and you can't help but feel nervously optimistic. You've never really dated anypony seriously before this - does it always move this fast?

You walk through the batwing doors together, and survey the inside of the saloon. A stallion is behind the bar, serving drinks; two mares dressed in barmaid outfits are going from table to table, taking orders; a pony in the back of the room is playing a piano enthusiastically; and finally, catching your eye more than any of the other patrons, you notice the three thugs from earlier sitting around a table in the far right-hand corner, next to the front window. They haven't seen you yet.

You quickly walk around in front of Bloom. "Uh, I'll order the drinks, you find a place to sit!" you say, trying not to look directly at the table in the corner. "Rusty, is everything okay? Y'all seem nervous" she says. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Cider, right?" you ask, still occasionally glancing at the table. She notices, and looks over herself, before frowning. "Ohhhhh. Those were the ones who stole the veggies, weren't they?" she asks, her frown turning into a scowl. "Why, somepony should teach 'em a lesson!"

You quickly move in front her again, blocking her vision of the table. "Bloom, please, can't we just leave it be for now?" you ask. "Let's just relax for now; we can confront them later. We don't even have any proof they did it!" She looks down at you, still scowling, then sighs. "Alright, Rusty, if that's what y'all think is best." She then smiles. "You know, you sure are different from the rest of the boys 'round here. They'd never step away from a fight. I'm not sure just how to feel 'bout that just yet."

With that, you both find a table relatively hidden from the thugs, and order your drinks. You didn't think you could find anything else to talk about after spending all day together, but somehow, you manage. By the time you're both finished, you notice that the three thugs left while you were both distracted. You breathe a sigh of relief, and a few minutes later, you both leave. Bloom is fine, but you're a little wobbly on your feet - their cider is a lot stronger than the stuff the Apple family always sold.

She walks you home, laughing at how much of a lightweight you are, and when you make it there, she tells you she had a great time. "I just wish we could've done somethin' 'bout them bullies. It's been a long time comin', and if nopony else is gonna dish it out, I might hafta do it myself." Too tired and buzzed to argue, you simply nod your head, before she smiles and pecks you on the cheek before you can react. "See y'all tomorrow, Rusty," she says, before walking away.

You stumble inside, forgetting to leave your hat on the rack, and make your way upstairs. You hear Mary snoring - she's as graceful as she is clean, apparently - but as soon as you plop down onto your bed, it all fades away quicker than you can blink. That is, until you find yourself back in the cave from your previous dream - still wearing your hat, coincidentally.
That's all for tonight, folks! I had a great time questing again, I can't believe I put it off this long, and I can't wait to do it again. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did, and more than that, I hope it was worth the weight.

I'm not sure when we're going to continue, but I promise it'll be soon.
