Hear me out for a moment, guys, because I think I'm on to something.
Everything that humans are, physically, is transcribed in our DNA, from eye color to number of limbs, and presumably even things such as personality and the ability to comprehend language.
Furthermore, it's fairly trivial to make small cosmetic changes to animals, like changing the color of their fur. They can even be glow-in-the-dark, if you insert a fluorescent gene marker.
So, with a little bit of funding, wouldn't it be feasible to make pastel-colored equines with human personalities? It would take a couple of generations of trial and error to make them appear "normal", but it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility, especially with our current technology. |
