I'm biased because she's my favorite, but Twilight in the first 5 minutes nearly killed me with all the squeeing over books and studying she did. Dash and Applejack are tied for second with how scared they got at every little thing in there when they were trying to act tough. Pinkie, Fluttershy and Rarity were still cute, with Fluttershy worried over Angel, Rarity trying to play it off as restoration, and Pinkie being Pinkie, but nothing in particular sticks out amongst the three of them.

My point, ragardless of whether or not you have bad taste, is that Rarity episodes are consistently good. Even ones that prominently feature her, even if they couldn't be outright called a Rarity Episode like Sonic Rainboom and Green Isn't Your Color.

The other characters excepting Twilight have no such level of consistency. Twilight is excepted because she's the main character and would essentially draw the entire series.

The most "random" thing Pinkie did all episode was her scribbles tallying up Rainbow Dash and Applejack's scores for the most daring.

Everything else was pretty well in order and character, with a rather prosaic and logical progression of events. You can even see that it's her eye in the painting.
