It was something NO ONE expected that Shining Armor had enough power (brother to the most powerful unicorn Celestia had ever seen) accessed via his love that Queen Bug got a MAJOR power boost, making her some kind of dark demi-god.

Celestia perhaps was a bit arrogent in the end, too use to being untouchable and it a sucker punch caught her off guard. That's it.
