>>1376556 The funnel of pegasi dispersed, their water delivery successful.
Flitter came to a stop on the nearby grass. She was breathing as hard as she could, and her heart pounded in her chest. She lifted her aching wings, and was rewarded with a cool breeze that started to dry the sweat coating her flanks. She walked around, taking the edge off the acid burn. She vaguely remembered flight school's health class, in which she'd learned that simply standing still after exercise was dangerous.
Someone gave her a high-hoof. All around, the pegasi were celebrating. She could feel the warrior's blood pounding through her veins, though she was a little light-headed.
She felt a gentle caress on her rump, and jumped. There was Rainbow Dash. "Hey, nice job up there, Flitter! We didn't get the record, but we sure as Hades got the water up."
Flitter blushed. "I-it was your leadership," she said, not knowing what else to say. She'd been startled by Rainbow Dash's casual touch, and her mind was scrambled. Were the rumors true? Was Rainbow Dash a casual hook-up kind of gal?
---
That night, after a thorough shower, she spend ten minutes brushing her hair absentmindedly. Why did she feel this way? It was probably just a pat on the rump, like patting her on the shoulder except she'd had her wings out.
But she couldn't get it out of her head. |
