as for the marker, i use the correct password, my browser just seems to screw it up which prevents others from moving it, which is the last thing i want to do. so i'm going to try a different approach when marking in the future.

How well you pick up colours, apply lines and use brushes, strokes, structures, etcetera, is very much influenced by your genes, but everyone can learn if they want to. So, you want to learn to draw! Every day:
- Drafting practice: copy the letter G from various fonts, five times per font, five different fonts.
- Aesthetics practice: find a reference on parts of aesthetics, such as framing, placement, contrast, color, etc. Look at deviantArt's front page and figure out one reason WHY each deviation is horrible.
Visualization: print pages of sketches, and ink them. SB has a bunch of pony sketches on his deviantArt, perfect for practicing.

Then trace two pony pictures, and sketch two more freehand. You will develop VERY quickly.

Side by side here, one's a 19" LCD, the other's an old CRT I use for displaying threads, music player and whatnot in the background. It works the same way as if you had one gigantic monitor, if you drag something to the side, it moves to the other one, etc.

But seriously, that was less than a year ago. What have I drawn since then? Like, 50 drawings? I haven't finished HALF of those. Most of them are sketches. I just drew shit, looked at what was wrong, and drew them again. That's fucking it. I looked at ponies and tried to analyze them. Do you know how much it helped?

It helped fucking nothing, that's what it helped. So I started simply drawing and figuring out shit on my own. No one's there to tell you what to draw, and even if they are, you won't understand shit. Because what matters is how YOU see.

Use as little lines as possible brosef. Gives you major control of what happening where and directing your subject.
Practise base forms (circle, triangle, etcetera) to get better constructions. Try to use more bend in your lines. Someone mentioned "those are coward lines", fits perfectly. Be bolt and crazy, make 'em as twisty as possible! Other than that I'd advice you to look at some references and other pony art.
It looks great though, nicely defined.

If you have a hand and the ability to hold a pencil or stylus, it's more than worth it. Why? Because you can Ctrl + Z in seconds, grab that hind leg and transform it, mirror the drawing, and set the transparency in the matter of seconds. If anything it HELPS you improve.

I like him. He has clean, smooth lines and a unique style. No, I'm not saying this because it's 2DEEP4U artistic shit. Throw stones at me and send me to the stocks, go on ahead.

Here, this image is by Sabrina (aka Sibsy), you may or may not know her. She works as a storyboard artist at Studio B. This is her style and how she works characters. Does it look like the show? NO. It fucking doesn't. It's a completely different drawing style and if I had to replicate the show's style using her sketches, I'd either shoot myself or began tearing my hair out slowly. It's NOTHING like the show. And what is that? What is that?

Perfect. Fucking perfect. Because her drawings convey smooth strokes with plenty of force and confidence to them, and THAT right there, is what makes you a perfect cartoonist. To be able to draw lines that are obvious. Do you like Ross's drawings? Maybe. Do you hate them? Maybe. But what's the only thing you know on Ross's drawings?

You always fucking know what character it is, and what it's doing. In all honesty, he should put way more effort to his sketches, and instead of arguing about stupid shit with MLPG, actually look at his drawings. Not others' drawings. Not the show. Not humans. His own goddamn drawings. And make it perfect the way HE wants to. What would Ross be great at? Storyboarding and animating. He'd be a bloody perfect animator. He could make a show with a clear, distinct style everyone would love and hate. And what does a good artist do? He creates emotions.

Layer for eye sketches, layer for body, layer for head shape, etc. And then you can just grab your lasso/whatever tool, press Ctrl + T (Transform), and drag stuff around. Nah, assuming you have a Wacom tablet, they all work the same way. Imagine a tube. It's basically a tube. With a nib you push in it till the end. You can grab the rod of plastic, and simply pull it out. It won't break, don't worry. Just pull it put and plug in a new one. Imagine a log of wood in a tunnel. that's essentially what it is. And don't worry about wearing them, if you use them lightly and don't push on your tablet like there's no tomorrow, it'll last you a good year before wearing out. I haven't worn out a single one in a year.

On the note of sketching, improve the very basic steps. Seriously. If you do any sort of drawing or art, it can be divided into stages. First, you think of a concept, what character should be doing what, positions, backgrounds, etc. Then, you think about the shapes and how the legs will be compared to the head, how the wings will stretch, and how many circles you need and where. Don't start colouring your picture and shading it when even the pre-sketching phase is shit! Work your way up. Just casually sketch things and do it if you ENJOY it. Sketch and doodle something a day. Sometimes it'll be good, sometimes it'll be shit. Sometimes you'll make an awesome sketch which you think is perfect. And then you make another one you think is shit. Why is that? Because you've improved! You look back at your former works and think they're shit. Your drawings haven't changed. Your VISION did. You know what you fucked up! The next time you sketch, it'll be much better. Then you'll be able to sketch more quickly. Then, after a few months, even better! Then, you can work on how to ink your sketches and how to colour them and shade them like CrookedTrees. But seriously, just do a quick doodle or sketch a day, and then put your tablet away if you don't want to continue. But never give up. Never give up drawing, and never give up enjoying it.
