>>34225646 it's not just beared titles and literal associations, the Tarot arcana represent something about one's character or an event. The Hanged Man, for example and in some versions, represents willing self-sacrifice, as it depicts odin who hung himself from the World Tree to gain knowledge.
In reality, Tarot cards were used as gambling, so I think the fortune telling aspect is bollocks, but I realized if I could get a full deck with card definitions, i'd be able to easily make up a randomly generated story.
Anyway though, the Empress represents the raw, primal aspects of femininity, she is sensual and passionate, elegant and wise in her own ways all at once. The emperor is rigid and logical, almost cold and apathetic to the world. Emotion is all but shunt away.
The empress and emperor complete eachother, the woman would be wild and the man would be a statue without the other. |
