Incorrect, horses IRL are not being focused on here, it's cartoon ponys that are not the same as anything IRL. They have the shape of human skulls, can walk on two legs and most of all they have personalities that are semi believable, meaning, they are fleshed out and actually live in the show, where as a show like Telly Tubbies has no personalizes or Straw Berry Shortcake where everyone is a sterile drone. They are human like, and so are more easier to be familiar to, unlike say a sentient jelly or spider
Plus it's not just to the show. Whether people want to admit it or not, someone that may have any kind of feelings to X pony will have derived them from someone who placed an slightly different one from the show in a picture or story. We latch on to things that are familiar or pleasant to us, and over time, unconsciously we develop feelings to the characters we watch, not just MLP. And indeed, this involves sexualization, just like other shows.
The main problem here is people have the misconception that a majority of fans are 'horse fuckers' when in fact it's just a extension of feelings when someone here of X pony. Just like everything else, only a very small populous legibly is hyperly infatuated with these characters. |
