>You and Twilight are lounging on the couch in the library, nothing but a thick haze in the air playing evidence to the last two hours. Spike is away on Official Canterlot Business all weekend, and the two of you had decided some real relaxation was in order.
>She scooches off the couch, saying she's 'gonna go get more chips or whatever', and you gesture to her appreciatively as she heads upstairs.
>It doesn't even register that the kitchen isn't up there.
>A few minutes later, you're entertaining yourself, turning a simple wooden pony bust around in your hands, when you hear Twilight clearing her throat next to you.
>You jump, startled, and she snickers at you while you recover.
>You look at her, puzzled, and start to remind her that she forgot the snacks, but stop short when you notice she's changed.
>Sometime last week you entered the library, looking for a book on home repair, and ended up walking in on her lounging on the floor reading, wearing a set of striped, flank-high socks. Her cheeks had quickly flushed, and she bolted upstairs as you tried to defuse the situation, stuttering out a compliment as the door to her bedroom slammed shut, as if to punctuate the awkwardness of the situation.
>She seemed terribly embarrassed about it at the time, but now, her half-lidded gaze is the picture of confidence. She remembers what you said.
>You had meant it too. The way they matched her mane and tail so well, and hugged her legs perfectly in their ringed embrace. She proffers a hoof, and you take it in your hand, slowly running it across the fabric covering her leg.
>She smiles warmly as you stare into her eyes, lost in that hypnotic gaze.
>Twilight's horn begins to glow, and the lights around the room slowly wink out, and soon all you can see is her face fading into the darkness as her magic wanes. |
