With that load off your chest, you suddenly realize just how tired you are; looking at the clock, you realize it's 5:30AM, so you've been up for about twenty hours straight now. You stretch, yawning, and ask Mabelle if she has a guest room you can stay in. "Sure do," she says. "I moved into my parents' room when they moved out, so you can sleep in my room. I hope you don't mind, but it's still just like it was when I was a filly, so be prepared for a lot of pink." You ignore the comment, too tired to care, and slowly drag yourself up the staircase. She follows you, then moves past at the top of the staircase, leading you to her old room - now your room, for the time being. Again she opens the door for you, and as soon as you enter, you realize she wasn't kidding: the walls are pink, the bedsheets are pink, even the rug on the floor is pink. The bed calls your name, however, and you flop down onto it, not even bothering with the covers.
She walks over, looking down at you, once again giving you that innocent smile of hers. "Don't worry," she says, "I'm sure we'll find a way to clear your name." You're not so sure, but it's nice of her to reassure you like that. She turns around and leaves, flicking off the light before closing the door behind her, and just like the light, you're out. |
