But in all seriousness they have some depth, they have some interesting traits, but they're still ultimately characters. There's a reason we can so easily differentiate between "characters" and "people", even in the real world, considering character is often used as a backhanded descriptor. It's cool that we love them all so much that we ascribe some depth to them, but often it's depth they don't have. They're still pretty much straight archetypes.
