Which ponies would make the best battered wives?
Twilight Sparkle was ordered by Celestia to make friends. And a spouse is the closest friend of all. If you're beating her, then there's a serious problem. And a problem is something that needs to be solved. So Twilight spends an awful lot of time thinking about it, and trying to solve the problem. In the end, she's left to conclude that the real problem is herself, and you must love her very much for beating her so badly.
Applejack's a traditionalist. Women, or mares, are naturally supposed to submit to their husbands. It was good enough for Granny Smith, it was good enough for her own mom, and consarnit, if you want to beat her for screwing up, then she can take it too. She shoulda known better in the first place before burning your dinner, or speaking out of turn. She's lucky to have a fine fella who's so old fashioned.
Pinkie Pie wants to make you happy. If beating her makes you happy, well so be it. She'll put up with the punches if that's what you want. It does make you happy, after all, right?
Rarity seems like she's too classy of a lady to put up with abuse. At least on the surface. But then again, she married you for your social status in the first place. That doesn't change just because you hit her every now and then. So she'll put up with it for the first few years, at least if you keep the blows to her body. Because her dresses can hide the bruises. Then, after time goes on, she'll get used to it. The bruises on her face she'll just cover up with lots of extra make-up. Poorly. |
