01/26/12(Thu)03:14 No.33646350>>33645997 "Luna has fallen. The wheel turns thrice. Upon the stage the jesters dance, unaware of the masquerade's curtain. The event of which we've spoken at length has finally arrived."
Celestia lapsed into a coughing fit. Blood stained her muzzle by the time she regained control. "There are no words to describe how much I love you. Your faith in Harmony, the innocence in your heart, and your joy in the hidden structures of ley, spelled L E Y..."
Applejack muttered an acknowledgement around the pencil.
"I caution you to avoid the complication of the comets," said the Princess, her volume dropping, "And above all, keep Harmony alive even as you pass to where I go before. Your teacher and friend, Celestia."
Applejack finished writing. Her eyes passed over the Princess' form, but they blurred with tears. She never thought she would be witness to the end of her . "You want I should take this into town for you?" she asked softly, as she rolled it carefully with her hooves.
The ever-present sparkles around Celestia's horn grew brighter, and Applejack stood back. With a flare of light, the paper turned to smoke and vanished. She watched it go. "Land sakes, ma'am, that's a pretty convenient way to send a letter." She looked back at the Princess.
Instead of a flowing auroral mass, the famous mane was now just pink hair. A violet eye looked into the heavens, unblinking.
Applejack took off her hat.
