01/20/12(Fri)06:08 No.33430317It's just another Friday.
They say it's supposed to be the best day of the week, since the weekend is about to begin, but it doesn't feel that way for her. With a half-hearted yawn, she trots over to her desk and collapses onto it. The kids may be gone, but her work isn't over, and she begins to eye the stack of papers with dread, knowing that she won't be able to enjoy her weekend until they're graded.
It's a hot summer day, and the room is warm like a fresh breadbasket inside the classroom: a lazy, comfortable warm that makes one feel sluggish. Groggily, she reaches for pen, fumbling around in for it half-heartedly, not truly looking, but working by muscle memory, when she hears the door crack ever-so-slightly, and the bell attached to the top let loose a short, shrill ring. The smell of apple pie wafts through the room, filling every nook with its intoxicating aroma.
Not looking up, she remarks gently, "Apple Bloom, it's very kind of you to bring me a pie, but I told you there will -not- be extra credit."
She pauses a moment, and her smile, curl of a smile begins to dissipate when there is no response. Shaking herself from her stupor, she sits up, searchingly calling out, "Apple Bloom?"
She turns around, and towering above her, behind her desk, is a large, red, stallion, pie in tow. She's more than a little surprised that such a large creature could move so quietly.
Surprise still written over her face, she quietly remarks, "You're not Apple Bloom."
"Nnnnnnooooope."
