Welp, I feel a bit vindicated by today's episode. One of my theories was that different types of ponies could sometimes spontaneously be spawned from two other types. In Mr. and Mrs. Cakes' case, a unicorn and Pegasus spawning from two earth ponies.

Also I theorize that unicorns have strong magic as infants but end up draining themselves before they get older, Twilight is (and possibly even Sweetie Belle), possibly, a rare opposite case of seeming non-magical as an infant until suddenly tapping into a magical reserve she had never fully realized.

finally, I feel sorry for Earth pony parents... Mr. Cake shows us he had to hold dirty diapers IN HIS MOUTH.

1. She's ran on foot from imminent danger
2. Plenty of other pegasi in the show fly without a particular reason, just because they can. It's just what they're comfortable with. I mean they live in the clouds. Scootaloo is the only pegasus who is not regularly shown flying.

It's been obvious since Dog and Pony Show that, in Spike's point-of-view, Rarity has that "aura" about her that he finds alluring and irresistible.

The whole lip-biting plea bit seemed more like a dramatization as Spike saw it rather than how it actually appeared. Hence why I feel Spike wasn't so much "manipulated" as much as he was "compelled."
