Also I feel like we learned "Why" Applejack is in the Elements of Harmony.
This is all just BS headcanon, obviously, but I feel like they keep hinting at each of the main characters being important to the group in some way for some reason other than their stated element.
'Cept Twilight who really does just seem to be fucking Magic Manifest. Plain, simple, powerful.
But as far as the others go, we have:
Rainbow Dash, who is the First Pegasus in generations to do a Rainboom (an act which sent fillies across the country into spontaneous puberty). Not only that but her Cutie mark looks just like the symbol off of the oldschool Pegasus nation (unless that was just done for the pageant, or if it's just an artistic thing). She's like what every Pegasus could ever aspire to be. Except awake.
Fluttershy has her Animal Thing, which is super weird for a non-earth pony. And she's got the stare in addition to that. The Pegasus Outcast. Rainbow Dash's opposite in many ways.
Pinkamenia Diane Pie. Miner. Enthusiast. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden joy that all ponies have. Then an accidental overdose of Sonic Rainiation interacts with her unique body chemistry. And now when Pinkamenia gets happy or excited a startling metamorphosis occurs. The incredible Pink...ie Pie.
Rarity... Has a keen eye for detail? She's a skilled social navigator? I'm sure they'll display her superpowers sometime down the way. Not that every character "needs" super powers to make them better or interesting, Rarity's dope, but right now she's the only one who doesn't schmooze with my pot-addled autistic fucking rambling here.
And now we know Applejack is from the very line that founded Ponyville and she'll probably next in line to continue maintaining the Zap Apple Trees after Mrs. Smith senior passes on. Something about those trees, she's drawing power from that orchard. |
