I really wanna say AT is still my favorite, but I can't.
I do enjoy the character development, but I do wish they'd keep it more discreet and open to imagination, especially with Marceline. Just a few insinuating sentences and really short flashbacks, like Boom Boom Mountain.
They've taken such a drastically sharp turn in direction, that I haven't enjoyed anything of season 3 as much as the others on this list, with the exception of 'Thank You'.
I loved villains like Marceline's Dad, who told so much of his personality and history in his one appearance, and was really funny. Like Magic Man, Penny, Sir Slicer, and Tiffany, who actually wanted to just mess with Finn, rather than just Ice King's taking princesses, and wanting to hang out. They missed a huge opportunity with Scorcher & Blastronaut.
Its just not as fun without the crazy, weird adventures.
Finn's innocent, spazzy kid humor (which made the weird, silly dialogue more fitting and less awkward). The "AT doesn't know how to write conversations! Its all lolrandumb" thing that turns people away, actually can back up its claim. his helping out every random creature was genuinely heroic and completely selfless. Who has he saved in season 3, who isn't a princess who he knows, or is being kidnapped? Would new Finn really help out a retarded snail or a party bear, or would he just rather pass on a whole episode? Is he doing what Billy said? Because it would be just awful for him to end up that way. |
