This is pretty much the specific reason why OCs cheese me out most of the time. Most of the time it's "hurr i write/draw so mine's a pen/quill/canvas/palette/etc." or, perhaps the worst offender, a video game controller. Disregarding the (varying) technological dissonance, there's a certain amount of self-entitlement in saying the special talent that composes your character is playing video games, but maybe that's just me.
Given, there are a fuckton of writers, artists, and gamers who like MLP so it's understandable, but I feel there's not enough exploration of options.
