Since you're still here, I would expound further upon my objections to your post, but as it stands I am tired and would like to sleep, so forgive my brevity.
Keep working on your music. It's not awful, it just doesn't have anything to do with MLP and that happens to also apply 90% of the "fan music" that gets posted to this fandom.
Writing an electronica song in a "calm" style and saying that it represents fluttershy doesn't really work because the characters in this cartoon fit into very simple archetypes which really only are fleshed out by the writing within the show itself. Your song could apply to any of the thousands of cartoon, movie, or book characters that fit the exact same archetype. Calling it "pony music" is not exactly respecting the composition itself, and I believe it neglects to respect yourself as a composer.
Keep working, and maybe someday you will be good enough to make something that does have to do with ponies, whether that be for better or for worse. PinkiePieSwear's compositions would be a good example. Just don't go dragging a simple electronica song with a pony label slapped on it in here and expect a good reaction here of all places. That kind of shit is reacted to the same way as attention whoring, and for much the same reason, whether that is your intention or not.
I'm sure you haven't offended anyone, we have thick skin here, as we deal with reactions like the one you got every day. In fact, I'm sure if you presented yourself as an amateur composer looking to get good enough to be able to make good pony songs, you'd find people here that would be much more receptive and willing to help. We've already got one of those and he doesn't get told to get the fuck out.
And for god's sake drop the love and tolerance shit around here. |
