The unicorns raised the sun and moon at that time.
The fragile peace between the tribes only lasted a season. Once spring arrived, there was discord once more. Star-Swirl the Bearded saw that the only way to force the tribes to get along was to unite them. He crafted a special spell, and used it during congress with his wife, a pegasus: the Amniomorphic Spell.
In her womb, the twin fillies took on aspects of all three tribes: the strength and endurance of earthponies, the weather control of the pegasi, and the magic of unicorns.
They were mocked at first, called freaks. But because of a plague decimating the unicorn population, they had not the strength to call the sun back from its slumber.
Little Celestia, still a blankflank, flew up to a cloud and raised the sun, earning her mark and the respect of all ponykind. |
