To be honest, Ben 10 was aimed at only a slighter older age bracket, and before the end of the first show it already spun an intense backstory / fleshed-out universe.

That being said, that's never going to happen in the show proper. We may be treated to one more episode related to how Luna and Celestia were elected princesses, but that'll be about it, and that is a long shot. They need more rootin' tootin' adventures with the main cast members with different locations and accessories to push the toy line.

Scootaloo jumped and grab a hold of the tree, she carefully put one hoof in front of the other and continued going upwards the tree until she reached the first branch. When she got on it she waited for a while, surprised at how high she had managed to climb in such a short time. There was probably a good two or three yards to the ground. Scootaloo got a bit dizzy from looking down and turned around to face the tree again, then she continued her climb. After climbing another yard or so she could feel a hoof slipping. Instinctively she reached her other hoof higher on the tree and tried to grab a hold on something to stop her from falling. Thus Scotaloo fell backwards, not able to grab a hold of any twig or branch to break her fall. The falling lasted perhaps for two or three seconds, but to Scootaloo it felt like an eternity. She hit the ground with her front legs first, and they snapped like two twigs. The snap was barely audible over the combined screams from the three fillies, but when the legs broke, the fall didn't. Her head was the next thing to hit the ground. The speed hadn't slowed down from hitting the legs first and Scootaloo's head hit the ground in full speed. She didn't respond when Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle ran up to her with tears in their eyes trying to wake her up.
