One reason why /b/ is hated is because they act like these types of threads are just like the ones on /b/. Here's the difference:
On /b/, the board is much more active and people make a lot of threads at once about all kinds of things because it's the random board. There can be only so many threads active at once, so for the pony thread on /b/ to stay active for people, a lot of posts have to be posted at a faster pace, and people over there seems to like to post pictures with their posts more regularly because there is no harm to it. 200/152 posts there is not a big deal, since when the image limit hits, people can make a new one right away and abandon the old one.
On /co/ it's different. It's much more slower here, so threads last for a long time. The reason why it's discouraged to post a picture every time you post text is because then the image limit would hit sooner, and a new thread would be needed to post pictures. To many threads made would dominate the pages on /co/, which would annoy everyone else that doesn't like MLPG's. Another reason why we don't go as fast is because people tend to like the slower pace of these threads. It takes about an hour for the image limit to hit normally, allowing people to talk about other things pony related.
This is just one reason why /b/ isn't liked here, another reason is quite simple. There is no context to the average btard, just mindless or random postings with horrible grammar, distracting people away from things they like, and ruining the atmosphere of the thread. |
