Well, preference in regards to the enjoyment of what the episode was and in regards to what the fans hoped it might be is one thing, but I think from an objective standpoint there were some flaws in regards to Dash's repeatedly trite characterization and the lack of any incentivization as a vessel for the plot. It also feels weird saying the writing for the show is 'weak' because there's no impartial standard to base critique on beyond the realms of our own judgement, and I feel like in the consistently vitriolic and nebulous atmosphere of the generals, there's no good standpoint from which to found our criticism of any individual element.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I felt MDW had a lot less personality where it counted than many of my favorite episodes from season 1... and while I don't buy into the gloom and doom mindset that some fans bought into when it aired, I do feel that season 2 is starting on weaker footing than season 1.

I think the biggest problem is that screen caps, mostly, have no depth to them; no shading, just abstract 2D shapes. If you try to replicate that, you just end up with something that's either accurate, or plainly wrong.

It's all about being wrong, but being able to carry it off still. Flash is very sharp and precise, so there's less margin.

Started it Tuesday, continued last night. As planned, you play as Pinkie Pie, and you're currently trying to track down a thief responsible for stealing your presents. So far you're pretty certain the culprits are a pegasi couple staying at the inn, who hale from Cloudsdale, and one of them seems to be tricking the CMC into doing the dirty work for him. It also turns out Dash was seen flying with him, even though she claimed not to be familiar with him.

When we left off, we noticed him in the park talking to the CMC, so when we continue again the primary objective will be to get close enough to him without spooking him and giving him an opportunity to escape.
